Washoe Valley/Foothill Week 12 (Mission Week 15)

 How's it going everyone?!

I've just hit the end of my 2nd transfer. I am out of my training. I have transfer news. I will be staying in my area for a 3rd transfer but my trainer, Elder Rhoades, will be leaving. My new companion coming in is actually my MTC companion Elder McGuire. It's crazy to think that he was on my computer screen in my house in Nacogdoches as well as at the MTC in Utah, and now we are together in the mission. I'll pick him up on Wednesday. It'll be fun to apply the things we both learned at the same time in the MTC in the actual mission. This transfer for the mission is absolutely crazy. It was the biggest and most changed transfer in a while. Even President Dunn was saying how exhausting and stressful this transfer was.
I had my first baptism on Saturday!!! It was so awesome to see Liam join his newly converted family in the waters of baptism. Saturday was extremely stressful due to unexpected meetings and events. We showed up to the baptism 1 minute late because we were at the mission office in Reno wayyy too long which was out of our hands. We ended up leaving the people we gave a ride so we could zoom on over to Washoe Valley to do the baptism. There were so many people there to support Liam which was awesome!!
We had a couple of good contacts this week
Alan
He is an older man (55-65) who we met street contacting. We went back with the Ward Mission Leader, Brother Smith, and talked with him for a bit. He didn't like how repentance was in his church and what he did like is pretty much how we believe repentance is to be done. We gave him a Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet and invited him to read it and we will go back and see if he has any questions.
Deb
Missionaries have been teaching her for a while now and she has slowly progressed. She knows the church is true and wants to be baptized but the only thi g holding her back is a fear that her sons will shun her if she does. We had a barbecue with some ward members and her family and got to meet her family and from out first impression, we think she is overreacting. Because of this, when we had the lesson we addressed any of her concerns she had other than the family. She didn't have any other concerns. My companion and I prayed before the lesson and decided to be bold and try to put her on date for August 13. We shared to her our idea and she said she will pray about.
We have a couple of FBI agents in our ward and the stake. Because if this, we got a tour of the FBI office in Reno. It was so cool. I wanted to be an FBI agent a few years ago and was in the law enforcement program in high school so I was really excited. We got a tour of the office, got to look at some really cool tech, had a bomb squad demo, and got flash-banged. It was awesome. We weren't able to take any pictures of the hidden camera stuff but it was crazy. They had cowboy hats, watches, credit cards, and even a PEPSI BOTTLE as a hidden camera prop. They legit looked real and you would have NO idea. Too bad I wasn't able to take any pics. We did video ourselves getting flash-banged which I included in the email.
I love all of you so much and really appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers coming my way. I pray everyday that my family and friends at home will be blessed for my service and I know Heavenly Father will bless yall for what I am doing. Most importantly, I know that he will bless me and my future family which I why I am out here.
Until next week,
Elder Proctor
