Washoe Valley/Foothill Week 11 (Mission Week 14)

Hey everyone!!

Another week gone. This week was pretty good. I went on 2 exchanges this past week. One with the Zone leaders and another with some elders in the district. Both were pretty fun. I finally got to bike the whole day on Friday and I loved it. I want to be in a biking area. With the Zone leader we found a girl named Angie who they will start teaching. It was our first contact of the day. The rest of that exchange was just walking around and not understanding much because the Zone leaders are Spanish Speaking. The biking exchange was all member visits and trying to reactivating lost sheep. It went well. It was very good for my quest to lose weight.
We went to one of our investigators sons birthday party and it was sooo cool. They had Minecraft themed everything and it was very impressive. It was a very good finding opportunity and forming connections because we were the only members there. I'll send pictures of the Minecraft themed everything.
I have been focusing on being more bold and getting better at door contacts. I have been doing more of them and getting more involved. I have found 2 people that are promising.
Alfredo
He is one of the people I have found. We knocked his door to ask if he knew where the members next door moved to. He said he didn't but we started talking about a show he watched about the church and Joseph Smith. That was our cue haha. I pulled out a Restoration pamphlet and did my little speech and how we are the best source of information and we invited him to read the pamphlet and he said he would. We are going to go back next week.
Liam
He is getting baptized on Saturday!!!!! When we went to his house to practice the baptismal interview questions with him he was screaming "I DONT WANT TO GET BAPTIZED ANYMORE!" His parents and family were explaining that he has been this way all day. It turns out he was just PETRIFIED to meet with bishop for the interview. He knew everyone and once we did a mock interview with him he felt better. His family was baptized three months ago so we can't wait for him to join them in the waters of baptism!
Jacky
She is another person I found a couple of weeks ago. We gave her a Restoration pamphlet as well. We have been back but she hadn't read it yet so we are going to go back and read it with her.
I will keep on getting better. The time is definitely getting more manageable and it seems like I'll actually make it home. It doesn't feel like eternity anymore. I'm looking forward to gaining more experience and I'm definitely getting in the feel of missionary work. I'm thinking that I might train. I'd totally be done for it.
I love all of you so much. I'll be sending blessings your way. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
Elder Proctor
