Fallon Week 7 (Mission Week 76)

 What's up everyone!

This past week was a good start to the transfer. I'm being a bit more goal focused this transfer so I'm hoping that will help us get some more work to do here. Please be praying that we can find more people to teach in our area. We really do try but this area is a bit harder in the finding category so if yall could do that it would be great! Other than that everything else is going well. Here's how my week went!

Monday
It was the last pday of the transfer and we had a lot to do. We had to drive down to Hawthorne because they are closing that area so we had to help the elders down there haul some stuff put of the apartment. This took like 3 hours out of the day. The rest of the day was pretty much hanging out with the district and signing transfer journals and stuff. We went to the high schools baseball facility and Elder Takemori pitched and I caught. The sisters pulled up too and we had them get into the batting cage and that was fun. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen and then went scorpion hunting that night haha. We caught 8 of them using our blacklights that we got from the Sanches'.

Tuesday
Transfer day. Luckily Elder Takemori and I didn't go anywhere but the whole day was spent helping others with transfers. In the morning we did a final pancake breakfast with all the elders at our place and then sent them on their way to their new places. We helped 2 sets of missionaries out with moving in and out of their places and then we drove down to Fernley to drop Elder Burton off for the transfer van and pick up Elder McGuire. The transfer van trailer broke down in Elko so we were there the whole evening waiting for it to come. It came around 8:45 and then we headed back to Fallon. Transfer day is awesome because you get to see a lot of missionaries but at the same time sucks if people are leaving.

Wednesday
We had a lesson with Allan planned but he got sick and had to cancel. Instead we prossed around his neighborhood until we headed off to the Life Center for service. After we did that we had more service with the Sisters where we cleaned up horse poo. It doesn't sound very fun at all but its manageable whenever you doing it with people that makes the time go by haha. After dinner we spent the evening walking this one neighborhood (1 of 3 neighborhoods we have haha) and had some good conversations. At the end of the night we stopped by to see Sister Stockard and she lives with the Birds so that was cool to talk to them. What was funny though was that the way the living room was set up it was almost as if the Bird family was expecting us talking to Grandma so it was kinda weird. They were all lined up in chairs like 15 feet away from us and we were on the couch facing away from them talking to the Grandma. Probably doesn't make sense over email but it made me laugh.

Thursday
We spent the morning pulling a ton of weeds with the other missionaries in Fallon for a family in the 4th ward. They fed us Taco Bell afterwards so that's good payment haha. After that we had our weekly planning session. We had volleyball night but unfortunately only 3 smaller kids came so it wasn't as productive as I want it to be.

Friday
In the morning we helped a guy we met at the LifeCenter move a couch out of his house. After that we wanted to have a scripture read with Carol but she was sick so we had to go out and walk instead. We covered for the hermanas at the LifeCenter because they were in Reno so we cleaned the cafeteria twice in one week. We had service with Suzi in the afternoon and the basketball in the evening. We had a good turnout to basketball and were able to play the whole time so that's good.

Saturday
In the morning we worked out with one of the youth in our ward. That was pretty fun. He's actually really good at basketball and he's only a freshman so its fun hanging out with him. We had a scripture read with Liz and then we contacted some referrals we got from members on who to check up on. No one answered the door. Story of my life right now. Lunch was pretty fun because Sister Sanders and Anderson brought over some meat and we grilled hamburgers on our porch. They were actually really good. After lunch we did some graphic creating for the Facebook page and then went out to contact all the dots that we had the sisters put in our area book. This method actually worked out pretty well for us because we had some nice conversations and even found a grey dot named Scott!! First find in a while. Finding is hard in our area so that was great. After dinner we did even more walking and it turned out pretty well. We didn't have any promising things happen but just being out there was good.

Sunday
As expected we went to church. What a surprise. Missionaries going to church? Crazy right? Our meetings went well and after church we made some contacts and then experimented walking in a different way that usual. We usually walk neighborhoods but those are very limited in our area so we tried out walking down the long road through our area (sort of like a highway but just a regular county road). It worked pretty well and we are going to do this with the other 2 roads like this in our area. We stopped by the Johnsons and as always that was really fun. After dinner with the Wests we did even more walking and talking to people we see! We walked a different route than usual and that was nice to feel a difference and not walk the same roads for the 20th time haha.

Lesson Reviews

Liz
We shared Matthew 25 and discussed the parable of the Ten Virgins. We talked about being prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and what that entails. She has been saying her prayers as well. She isn't really progressing at all but she loves us coming by and sharing messages.

Scott
He was a grey dot (meaning he used to be taught but isn't anymore) and we showed up and introduced ourselves. We talked about what the other missionaries discussed with him. We ended up giving him a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and will be going back next week to discuss it!

That's it for this week. Once again if yall could be praying for us to find more people as well as to help us open our mouths to EVERYONE that would be awesome. I'm trying to put in the work on my end as well so I'm hoping to be able to report more lessons this transfer. I love yall!!

Have a great week!

Fallon Week 6 (Mission Week 75)

Hey guys!

Well my first transfer in Fallon came and went. We got transfer news and I am staying here in Fallon with Elder Takemori for another transfer so that's dope but the megadistrict is getting disbanded and there's some people leaving that I wish were hanging around here for a little bit longer. Both Tonopah and Hawthorne got closed down so those 4 guys are leaving and then Sister Wilkes is getting booted after one transfer and she's getting sent to Ely. Ely in in the middle of nowhere and is literally hundreds of miles away from anything else and there hasn't been Sisters there for like 30 years so Wilkes is making history haha. Sisters in Ely is probably the craziest change but there were other changes that surprised me too. It's lowkey really wierd looking at the transfer board because it is so different from what it used to be when President Dunn was here and I am older than everyone on it in mission age. It's crazy to think I've been out here for nearly 18 months and I'm so grateful for all the memories and relationships I've made. A word of advice to the ones that are reading that haven't gone on your mission yet or are just started. Make memories and have and make fun wherever you are. I lowkey wasn't the biggest fan of Fallon the first week or 2 but dang I'm pretty bummed that the megadistrict is gone. Don't take anytime for granted. Live in the moment and thank God for all that has been given. Anyways here's how my week went

Monday
It was a pretty fun pday. We did a ton of stuff. In the morning we went and disc golfed at the new course that we helped put in. There's no layout right now so i just made my own and we played it. The hermanas and the Sheckler sisters were with us so that was fun. Afterwards we all went out and got ice cream. After that we went bowling with most of the district. It was a fun day.

Tuesday
In the morning we had service cleaning out this lady's backyard and that was fun. The 2nd ward elders, hermanas, and Sheckler sisters were all there. Its always so fun doing service with other missionaries. After we finished up there we had our last district council of the transfer. We had a testimony meeting at the end and that was great. The megadistrict was so fun and Im glad that I was able to be apart of it. Its gonna be weird not having 18 people at district coucil again haha. We did a district potluck lunch afterwards and made transfer predictions. I love doing these but holy crap the board was so big because there was 18 people to make picks so thats a total of 324 predictions haha. We got it done though. The afternoon was spent helping Nikki put gravel in her yard. 2nd ward and sheckler were with us so it made it go quicker. After dinner we went to mutual and helped the youth finish building some tables.

Wednesday
We were supposed to have service with Liz's husband at their ranch but when we got there he decided to cancel so we were pretty bummed that we weren't gonna be hanging out with some bulls haha. Instead we headed home and cleaned up the apartment because we had a housing inspection and the lady that does them is really strict and takes it way too seriously. After we cleaned we went to the Life Center and wiped down all the tables and then had our housing inspection afterwards. After that we went and did service with the !Hermanas and Sheckler sisters cleaning up a horse pen. Sister Wilkes and Hansen were some clowns because they would not tell us if they had gotten a call from President regarding transfers or not so i was stressing out and they loved seeing us tripping over it haha. Eventually they gained my trust back when they said they didn't get a call haha. That service was pretty fun though. After that we went to Azteca with the Johnsons and that was really fun. They are less active but they like us so hopefully we can keep developing a good relationship with them. After dinner we went and proselyting in a neighborhood and went contacted a couple of people and unfortunately we had to drop them because they aren't interested...

Thursday
We had a great lesson with Allan in the morning and then we helped the Hollidays move some stuff at their house. They took us to Julios afterwards so that was awesome. After that we did our weekly planning and then we went and watched a quarter of the JV football game because some of the youth are on the team. Afterwards we had our volleyball night which is always fun. We are still working on getting more people there but regardless its fun with whoever shows up. Sister Hansen showed us some yoga so Ill send a picture of us doing yoga haha.

Friday
We had service in the morning with a guy that the Spanish elders found. We had 10 elders there which was a bit much but it was still fun. We caught some big lizards there and we kept them haha. Elder Takemori and I have been catching stuff all transfer but everything we have caught has died even though we try to keep it alive so I think we are gonna stop doing it so more things can live. After the service we had a long discussion with a pastor at his house about several different beliefs. His name is Steven and we found him the week before and this was our first time talking. After that we did some graphic creating and then went to dinner. We had basketball after that and that was fun.

Saturday
We went over to the same lady that we helped on Tuesday and helped her break the law. She literally had us dump all of her trash on the street which is literally street dumping which isn't ok. Oh well haha. If we get caught it was not just us but the hermanas and sheckler sisters street dumping lol. After that I made pancakes for the 6 of us at our apartment (don't worry the sisters didn't come in haha). We didnt have syrup unfortunately so that was pretty sucky but it was still fun hanging out haha. We also had service with the Sanches' and they fed us afterwards. I was playing with the lighter during service and I burned a hole in a random plastic water bottle not thinking much of it. Well during lunch Sister Sanches' goes to drink but instead of it going out the top it goes through the hole I burned and it gets all over her. Turns out it was her water bottle I burned😬 whoops. I apologized and explained what happened and thankfully she had a good sense of humor and said it was ok. Don't go around burning holes in random bottles to avoid this haha. The rest of the day was spent on exchanges with Elder Hovey. Our dinner canceled so I called up the Huntzingers and it turned out so well because they were going to a birthday party for Sister Hallberg so we had an incredible dinner with the whole Hallberg family. There was so much food and we were so full by the end.

Sunday
It was the primary program at church so church was awesome. After church we had lunch and comp study and then had a Bible Study with Granny B. After that we had dinner with the Johnsons and Irvings and they made curry so I loved that! After dinner we contacted some of our friends that were trying to teach and then the moment we've all been waiting for arrived and that was transfer news. Us and 2nd ward pulled up to Sister Wilkes and Hansens place and we all sat on their porch waiting for the news. Well the news came and holy crap the whole mission got changed again and even more things that don't make sense happened. This upcoming transfer is gonna be way different than this last one but that's ok. I'm glad the megadistrict ever happened but its now disbanded and some of my favorite missionaries this transfer are leaving..... oh well

Lesson Reviews

Allan
He read 1 Nephi: 3-5 so we discussed what he read. After that we read 1 Nephi: 6-7 and discussed what principles we learned from reading it. We will be reading 1 Nephi 8 and doing a deep dive into the Tree of Life vision with him.

Steven
We had an interesting conversation him. He is a preacher at a Baptist church. He isn't interested at all but wants to talk about our beliefs. It was like a bash but not at the same time. We talked about faith, works, and being saved by grace. We really talked all of the Plan of Salvation and discussed the similarities and differences of our beliefs. He was definitely trying to talk above us and confuse us but I think we held our ground pretty well. It's crazy to think that no other 19-20 year old in the world is going head to head with a pastor who has literally gone to school for what they do and we somehow are able to have a high level discussion with him because we are missionaries haha.

Granny B
We worked on her puzzle for a little bit and has some cake and then we read from Psalms 19 and discussed what we learned from what we read. She goes to the church that Steven is the pastor for so we understand why she is pretty adamant about not reading from the Book of Mormon based on our conversation with Steven the other day. She is a great lady though and hopefully one day she will want to learn about our church.

Well thats it from this week. This upcoming week is pretty basic and we will just be getting to know the new people coming in and hopefully we can replicate somewhat of the fun we had with the megadistrict. Thanks for the continued prayers coming my way and I'll talk to yall next week!

I love yall

Fallon Week 5 (Mission Week 74)

Better late than never right? Sorry this email is coming in so late but how's it going everyone? I hope you all had a great week last week. Here's how my week went!

Monday
We had a really fun pday. We had a zone activity and we went to a members house and played a bunch of sports in their big yard. It was really fun. After that we all got lunch and ate it at the church building and then the elders played 5on5 basketball. After we got doing that we went to the county gym and played pickup there with some youth. It was a fun day.

Tuesday
We had district council and that morning I made cookies for everyone. The Sheckler sisters made enchiladas so we had a great lunch after our meeting. I love having a district of 16 people haha. Its so much fun. After that we started exchanges with the 2nd ward elders and I went with Elder Burton! I got to go on an exchange with my son haha. It was fun reminiscing on our time in Winnemucca. We had service with Suzi where we picked up alot of tree branches and debris and made a burnpile. After that we hit up some contacts and then went to dinner. After dinner we went to the Addiction Recovery meeting with one of the people that 2nd ward is working with. It was actually a cool thing to be apart of that and see what those meetings are like. We spent some more time with Ernie walking him home from the meeting and that was really fun. He said that elders are better than sisters so we videoed it and sent it to our zone haha. The rest of the evening was pretty normal.

Wednesday
I went and worked Elder Burtons area in the morning for the rest of our exchange. That went well. We then went to the Life Center and got a free meal and then cleaned up all the tables for service. We ended exchanges after that and then Elder Takemori and I did some more proselyting. We had service where we pulled weeds that were over 6 ft tall. We had some help from the district but it was a lot. Ill send a before and after pic. After the service us and the Sheckler sisters went a d got some free ice cream with the coupon the kady we helped gave us. After that we had Sheckler ward mutual and that was great.

Thursday
In the morning we went out and tried contacting a lot of part member families but unfortunately no one answered. We legit went like 0/10 but thats ok. It happens all the time haha. That took the whole morning and then we spent the afternoon weekly planning. During weekly planning we sent a message to everyone in our area book the details of oir sport nights so hopefully that will draw more people. We had an awesome dinner with the Williams family. Brother Williams cracks me up. After that we had our volleyball night. It was actually good volleyball and we filmed us playing haha. Ill send a clip of when someone made it into the basketball lol. It was good until one of the youth hurt her knee (we werent even playing at this time she just jumped and landed wrong) so that ended the night earlier than expected. Shes ok but itll be a few weeks in a knee brace and thats all.

Friday
I went on exchanges with Elder Kroff in his area. There is really nothing to report because I didnt understand a thing the whole day because I was in the Spanish area. Hopefully the spirit was testifying because I sure wasnt haha. We did have 2 back to back door slams on us. It was the most stereotypical door slam of my mission. Knocked, introduced ourselves and in the middle of our first sentence WHAMMM door slams. Those are always a motivation to keep going. That night we had basketball and we were able to play full court and a few less active members and nonmembers came.

Saturday
It was a chill day and that wss good because i was pretty sick. We had our music rehearsal in the morning with the zone in preparation for the music devotional the next day. That took the whole morning and it was fun. After that we went and got lunch with the Sheckler and Lone Tree sisters and that was tons of fun. During the afternoon I got the unique opportunity to help move the local disc golf course to a different location so that was super fun. My inner disc golf nerd was pretty mad because the layout of the course is extremely bad but I had no choice but to follow instructions. After that we had dinner with the Huntzingers and they invited a few people over and that was a GREAT dinner. Sister Huntzinger is an amazing chef and she made me curry. Dinner there really fills us up because she makes multiple meals at once haha. Keith was one of the people there and he is a nonmember who comes to church but doesnt want to take the lessons because he wants to learn on his own. We have no choice but to respect that. He is a great guy.

Sunday
Having church at 11:30am is pretty nice because we just spend the morning relaxing and having extra studies. After church we did some contacting and we went over to the Johnsons house again. Sister Johnsons husband isn't active at all and there family doesn't really care for missionaries but she let us know that we are the coolest missionaries they have ever had haha. That was awesome. Only after 1 hour of getting to know them a couple of weeks ago after we left they made this decision lol. Hopefully we can keep developing that relationship because they have an unbaptized youth age daughter. Most of the day was spent traveling to and from Lovelock because thats where our music devotional was. Lovelock is in the same stake as Winnemucca so I invited some people from 2nd ward to come and they did! It was so awesome getting to see the Southwicks and all the Kenisons. One of the best parts of the mission is when you get to see people from past areas and reminisce on the time you spent with them. The music devotional went great and right before it started President and Sister Saxton walked in so that was a pleasant surprise. All in all it was a great day.

Lesson Reviews

Allan
He did his homework by ready Alma 32 so we discussed it with him and talked about faith. We asked him what he hopes to gain from the missionaries being over and he said he wants to really believe his beliefs. He wants to make sure that when he is baptized he is doing it because he knows it's true.

Liz
We had a nice visit with her. We got to meet her husband and set up service for next week. We shared a scripture from Romans with her and discussed what we can learn from what we read.

Allan 2
We a great lesson with Allan. He is going to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and we are reading it with him. He read 1 Nephi 1 and then we read 1 Nephi 2 with him. We discussed it and then invited him to read the next couple chapters and come to church but he said he would be busy and might be able to swing by for second hour. We set up a return appointment for Thursday. We are super stoked that he wants to read the whole book!

Carol
We had an interesting lesson with her again. Not really fruitful but us going over brings a spirit into her life so that's good. We read 2 Nephi 32 with her and discussed prayer. We aren't really sure where to go from now with her to be honest. Hopefully we will have a big AHA moment haha

Steven
We found Steven and he is of another faith. He said he'd be down to talk more with us but not in the moment. We gave him a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and set a time to come back.

That's pretty much everything that happened this week! I'm just trucking along and doing the work here in Fallon. Transfers are next week so the whole district is on edge because many things could change or none at all. I'm hoping I stay with Elder Takemori again and the megadistrict stays together. We shall see.

I love yall. Have a great week!

Fallon Week 4 (Mission Week 73)

I'll just start of by saying HOW IS IT ALREADY SEPTEMBER!!!! The fact that it is already September is so crazy to me. This time last year was my first week in Winnemucca. Time goes by so fast now. I hit my 17th month mark and the end of the mission is within sight now. But for now we're not gonna think about that haha. How about we talk about how my week went haha

Monday
I had a pretty fun pday. In the morning we went disc golfing at the course here in Fallon. It wasnt the best course but it was still fun. After that we headed to the church where we made pancakes and had lunch with everyone! That was pretty fun to eat and hang out with everyone. We played chair soccer and other things as well. It was a good pday. That night I prepared Tikka Masala curry because i wanted to make food for our district lunch after district council the following day.

Tuesday
We had a GREAT district council. Elder Takemori did an excellent job preparing the council. It was focused on joy and how to increase our joy in all aspects of our life. It was definitely one of the better district councils of my mission. Afterwards we all had lumch together and ate my Tikka Masala that I prepared. I had 18 mouths to feed and it still turned out really good!! Everyone loved the lunch which made me feel great! After district council we started exchanges with the Hawthorne elders. I went with Elder Gardner. The 2nd ward elders needed to go to Reno so we loaned them our car and I got to be on bikes for a day!! It was awesome. We pretty much proselyted the whole day and night. Normal missionary day haha

Wednesday
Elder Gardner and I had a full morning of lessons which was awesome. We were on bikes too so we were booking it to each lesson. We had Allan at 10am, Liz at 11am, and Carol at 12. The lesson with Liz fell through but the other two happened. After our full morning we went to Arbys with all the Fallon district because Sister Wanlass (the mission mom haha) drove out from Reno to take us all to lunch and she brought root beer floats. That was pretty fun. We ended exchanges and then went and filmed a video with the Hermanas. They do a english connect thing where they film a video and put subtitles on the video to help people learn English. It was fun making the video. After that we had dinner and then we went over to the Sanches house because they said they had something for us. We relaly had no clue what to expect but when we got their they had bought us both a nice blacklight!! We had dinner with then at the beginning of the transfer and we looked at their rocks with the blacklight and they all glowed and since we both found that pretty fun they got us some blacklights!! That was a pleasant surprise. After that we went to the Sheckler ward youth activites and then that wrapped up the day.

Thursday
In the morning we bailed hay with some of the other elders for a non member couple in one of the sisters ward. That was pretty fun. After that the 6 of us went out to get lunch. After that we did our weekly planning and then we went to go contact Perla (who was a online referal). She had told us we could come by but when we got there no one answered. Typical haha. When we were leaving though a random guy rolled down his window and asked us what we were doing so we gave him the typical missionary introduction and he wanted our number. We also mentioned that we love to serve people and that if he needs any help with service wed love to do it. He liked when we said this and he said he would put us to work. I think he though Elder Takemori was Mexican because he was saying stuff like, "Oh I KNOW you like to work", and "Ill give you a sombrero to wear when we work". We really had no idea what to expect the next day because he said he will shoot us a text fir us ti help tomorrow. Ill tell you what happened with that on Friday haha. The evening was spent doing our weekly volleyball night!

Friday
Somehow it was the 1st day of September. So crazy that time has gone this fast. It has been a year since my first day in Winnemucca. Anyways the day was pretty fun. We had exchanges with the Zone leaders. I went with Elder Tims. In the morning we played pickleball with a lot of people at the church building and that was fun. We recieved our new MSF cards as well that morning. After that Elder Tims and I went to go check out the service that we planned the day before with the random Mexican guy that we found. We were cracking jokes before we got their trying to predict what we we gonna be doing. We were saying stuff like, "I bet we are gonna pull up and their is gonna be a whole crew of Mexicans building a house and were gonna be stuck doing it too" and stuff like that. So we pull up and no joke this is almost exactly what it was ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ we pull up and their is a crew of Mexicans and it turns out this guy has his own landscaping/yardwork business and he wanted us to work for him🤣🤣 we get there and we work free of charge while everyone else was getting paid $17 an hour. He offered us a job but we denied haha. Definitely a story for the books. The rest of the day was spent proselyting in Elder Tims area. Nothing too special happened. We had basketball in the evening but unfortunately no one was there. Starting it here in Fallon has been alittle harder but thats ok. If its meant to be then we will get it running.

Saturday
We pulled a bunch of weeds in the morning with the sisters. After that we had a great lesson with Allan. We did our studies and then we had a short lesson with Liz. We contacted some more people and then we went to the church to do some Facebook work. We had dinner and then we had flag football in the evening and that was really fun. There was a speed radar to track cars and we ran to see how fast we could go and that was fun. Ill send a video. An awesome thing that happened is that the sisters brought us Sonic slushes to flag football so that was dope.

Sunday
Sundays are pretty typical. We have church every Sunday and today was no different. We had a guy named Keith come to church and that was great. He even bore his testimony of Jesus Christ! It was a VERY rainy day and I experienced my first storm in like 17 months haha. It was so great. While I ate I pulled up a chair to the window and opened it and listened to the storm. We proselyted a bit after the storm passed through and there was a GIANT puddle (pretty much lake) that we had to drive through. I will send a video of how big it was. We had a great dinner with the Andersons and then played some wiffleball with their kids. After that we went out a contact a few part member families. Whenever it got dark we had to go back to the Andersons because my tag fell off while we were playing wiffleball. We went out there and their youngest son found it!! I thought all hope was lost but we found it so that was awesome!!

Lesson Reviews

Allan
We had a great discussion. Allan had read Mosiah 3 and he even kept going to Chapter 4! You can count on him to do his homework! We discussed what we learned from the chapters and then we read all of 2 Nephi 31 and stopped and discussed what we learned as we read. We focused on baptism and how it can bless our lives. He had some very good questions and we were able to answer them. He discussed the tongue of angels and how that is when we testify of Christ through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. One thing that we will need to address is the coffee and alcohol he has around his place but we will address that when we feel the time is right. We invited him to read Alma 7 and we will come back on Saturday morning!

Carol
This was our first lesson with her and it went way different than we thought it would. It took a really long time to stop chatting and get into reading. Once we managed to try to start reading she said "No offense but I believe in the Holy Bible KJ Version and if it's not in there then I don't believe it." This got us to talk about how we believe in the Bible as well and why we believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God too. She was talking about stuff that the History Channel said about the Church and how Joseph Smiths story went and we corrected what the History Channel told her. We never got to reading and it was an all over the place discussion on church history/how we came to be and the Bible. She's not bashing us at all and no contention but she simply doesn't understand that we are trying to correct her thought process and she thinks the History Channel is the source of all truth. We asked if she has ever read the Book of Mormon and she said no so we asked her to read it.

Jeff
We had a great conversation with him. We talked a lot about his projects and he took us to the back to show us his shed. We discussed his beliefs and ours. We gave him a Restoration pamphlet and asked if he would read it and he said he would. He still said that he is really busy and to just stop by.

Allan 2
We discussed Alma 7-8 because once again Allan read more than we invited! We talked about Jesus Christs Atonement and how it affects us. We then read Ether 3 and discussed faith. We also were able to talk about the makeup of the Book of Mormon and why it's called that. In Ether 3:27 he made the connection that when it said "The Lord will make these things known in His own due time" that is referring to Joseph Smith translating the Book of Mormon. That was awesome to see him make that connection. We also discussed more about baptism and he said that what we are doing is helping him understand why baptism is important. We also discussed more about what we have previously taught in other lessons.

Liz
We chatted for a little bit and then we shared a couple of scripture verses about giving thanks and prayer. We shared Alma 26:16 and Alma 37: 36-37 and discussed what we can learn from these verses. She is a believer and she says her prayers. She did say that she will not convert but enjoys us coming and reading with her. We asked her if she had any general questions about our beliefs and she said not at the moment.

That's it from this week. I hope you all had a great past week and I hope this one is even better. Also for those that respond to my emails please know that I read EVERY SINGLE one of them. I may not respond but I thoroughly enjoy whenever yall send an email!

I love yall

Nacogdoches Weeks 19-20 (Mission Weeks 102-103) Part of the Journey is the End

For the last time, Hey everyone! My last 2 weeks as a missionary were awesome. I was very busy and I had a great time doing all my missionar...
