Quincy Week 7 (Mission Week 46)

I hope y'all are doing well at home! I had a pretty fun week last week. We had transfers and I am now with Elder Salinas is Quincy. Also my return to Washoe Valley for Wednesday afternoon was so much fun. Going back there and remembering how much I love the people there has increased my thankfulness of being out on a mission. There's no other time in my life that I'll have these opportunities so I need to make the most out of it before its over in a little over a year. Anyways here's how my week went!

Monday
It was a fun p day. We played a round of disc golf with Brother Dolezal and a couple of his disc golf buddies which was really fun. We played it tournament style so it took a really long time which is fine by me haha. After we did that we went over to the Dolezals house and played card games and had Burritos. In the evening we helped one of our members clean off their back porch and then headed home for the night.

Tuesday
It was Elder Haufes last day in the area. He was packing periodically through the day. We were supposed to have a lesson with Ray but it fell through. We had a lesson with Chad and we had one of our youth, Nate, tag along but that one fell through too. Bummer. We were able to do Family History with Larry in the afternoon. Now that Elder Haufe is gone I don't know what we are going to do because his knowledge with FamilySearch is WAYYY more advanced than mine. We will figure it out haha. We went over to the Dolezals house so Haufe could say bye. We then went to the hospital because Brother Walmer works there and Elder Haufe wanted to say bye to him too. It was funny because we were waiting in our car for him and before we knew it our back door flung open and he jumped into our car and sat down saying "HI GUYS!" He's a great funny guy. Elder Haufe said some more goodbyes and then we had a lesson with Maddy that went well. We actually put her on date to be baptized! After that lesson Larry took us out for a late farewell dinner and Carlos tagged along as well.

Wednesday (Return to Washoe Valley)
This was practically a vacation day for me. It was transfer day so we headed down to Reno and transfers were at 12:30. I said bye to Elder Haufe and he left to go to his new area and I joined Elder Beyler for the rest of the day because both of our companions were traveling from Elko on the transfer van and and wouldn't get to Reno until much later. Elder Beylers area is Washoe Valley which meant that I could make a return to Washoe for the afternoon!!!!! I am soooo happy that I got to say hi to the people there. We drove to Washoe house that we stayed at and I checked if anyone had taken the suits that were too big I left there when I got transferred and one of them were gone! I'm glad I left them haha. We then went to go say hi to the Curtis family. I found out that their son had received his mission call since I had left so that was exciting. After that we went to the Andersons. Brother Anderson was at work sadly but I got to say hi to the rest of the fam. We then drove up the mountain and said hi to the Krums. We actually ended up eating dinner with them haha. One of their kids was at work when I came by and when she found out I was there she rushed home to say hi before I left haha. I was so glad I got to see the whole fam. It was getting close to 6 and was about time to get going back to the mission office but then we found out that the transfer van was still 3 hours out so my return to Washoe lasted much longer than expected!!! I got to go to mutual and see A LOT more people than I had expected to which was AWESOME!!! I got to see the whole youth and a couple more families that I didn't have time to originally. I'm so glad that I was able to do that. I really needed it. All good things must come to an end though. We said bye to everyone after mutual ended and headed to the mission office. The transfer van finally arrived at 9pm and I picked up Elder Salinas and we headed back to Quincy. We didn't get back until 11pm. It was a long but VERY enjoyable day.

Thursday
Mine and Elder Salinas first day together. We did some shopping in the morning and then went to Bishop Thackerays work and introduced him. I watched the funeral for my papa around noon. Super happy that I have the technology to do that. We then conducted our weekly planning session and I gave Elder Salinas a rundown of the people we are teaching. We had a dinner with the Stokes which was awesome because we rarely have member meals here. After dinner we went to the church for basketball. We brought out the scoreboard and a whiteboard for everyone to write their names down so we could keep a better track on who has next game. It worked very well and we had a good turnout again. We had 14 people there. One of our investigators sons came too which I was happy to see!

Friday
We helped out at the food pantry in the morning for 2 hours. We had an over the phone Bible Study lesson with Sydney that went well. We headed up to Greenville to do some work there during the afternoon. We had a return appointment with Kristina that fell through unfortunately. We tried to contact Brittant but she wasn't home. A plan that was supposed to last 45 minutes went by in 5 haha. We ended up just knocking doors for an hour and no one was really in a talking mood. We did get a referral to go try a set of apartments somewhere in town that we didn't know about so we are going to do that next week. We headed back down to Quincy and had an awesome dinner with the Dolezals. After that we introduced Elder Salinas to our ward mission leader, Carlos.

Saturday
We had a our game brunch that went really well! The Schillingars came so I was super happy to see that and they made some friends there as well!!! We had waffles and other brunch type food and played board/card games. We helped Brother Dolezal with some yard cleanup in the afternoon. We had dinner with Carlos and then after the 3 of us went over the Bill and Larry's and we had an AWESOME lesson about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. What was great was that I was able to talk about my cleft lip and palate and it really brought the Spirit into the room. Bills birthday was 2 days before so we gave him some birthday cards and we had a birthday apple cinnamon bread dessert!

Sunday
We had regular church meetings but with a ward potluck afterwards! If there's one thing that Quincy Ward has down its their potlucks. This is my 5th one here and I've been here for 1 transfer. Potlucks are awesome. We did all our studies after church and then we had a great discussion with Terry and Vicki. We brought Carlos along and introduced him to them. They said they that really enjoyed the game night and will come to the next potluck! After the lesson we had a correlation meeting with Carlos that lasted a while but we talked about some good stuff. We ended the day by going to the Grandalls and introducing them to Elder Salinas and eating apple crisp!

Lesson Reviews

Maddy
We went over the Tree of Life vision and watch the BoM video associated with it. We talked about the symbolisms behind the vision. We talked about how when we are baptized we are partaking of the fruit and our souls are filled with joy. We asked her if she wants to be baptized and she immediately said yes!!!! We asked Desiree and she was on board with it. We set a date for April 12 (which is a Wednesday) because she said she has had thoughts about that being the date. We asked her to pray about it and tell us the answer she gets. Top priority now is making sure she understands everything as well as making sure she will have the support at home after she is baptized.

Sydney
We read Acts 1-3. We were actually able to teach some principles in the lesson from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a little bit of the Restoration. We talked about how Christ set the perfect example of what we need to do which is why we follow His Gospel.

Bill and Larry
We read Mosiah 3 and discussed what we learned from its precepts. We mainly talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and what it covers, what He suffered for, and how we can gain strength from our Savior. We testified that it is only through Jesus Christs name that we can be saved. We taught how it is through The Holy Ghost that we know the truth of things and that prayer is how we ask to know the truth. We also talked about how missionary work is just delaring that joy can be felt through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Terry and Vicki
Super good discussion! We talked about how The Spirit communicates to our spirit as well as when we meet people our spirits communicate as well. We talked about building our foundation on Christ and when we do then we will not fall. Carlos and Vicki both shared their stories of how they found for themselves that the Church was true. Vicki said that what got her was the Premortal life and it just made sense. We talked about how we are here on Earth at this time for a reason. We read Helaman 5: 6-12 and talked about how remembering our covenants and why we believe is so important.

Well that's it from this week! I love y'all!

Have a great week

Quincy Week 6 (Mission Week 45)

Well another transfer has gone. This upcoming transfer is the last one of my first year as a missionary. Crazy. Transfer news is that I am staying in Quincy!! Elder Haufe is leaving and I will be getting a new companion. The coolest part about it is that on transfer day I will be going to Washoe Valley for the afternoon and going with Elder Beyler because my companion won't be in Reno until Wednesday evening. I'm so excited to spend a couple of hours in my baby area and say hi to some people there. Here's how my week went.

Monday
Elder Haufe and I just stayed in Quincy for Pday. We did all our housekeeping things and we also went disc golfing with Brother Dolezals son, Andrew, and his friend Blake. I'm so glad I'm in a place with a good disc golf course. When I get transferred I'll go back to either a terrible course in the dirt of Nevada or no course at all. I'll be grateful while I'm here haha. We should have had a lesson with Maddy but her mom canceled again.

Tuesday
We went up to Susanville for district council. I did a training on working with the youth and why it's important. After that we started exchanges. Elder Van Der Watt came back to Quincy with me. On the way back we stopped in Greenville and did some work there. We actually found someone (Kristina) which was awesome. We were walking and she shouted out to us if we had a Bible that we could give her and we said OF COURSE!! We gave her a Bible and we actually helped her start her generator. After we thought we had gotten it started we said a prayer for it to continue to stay on and kid you not immediately when I said amen the generator stopped working 😐. Kristina immediately looked up and said well thanks God 🤣. I was trying not to laugh at how ironic the situation was so we went back and tried again and we eventually got it started and it didn't turn off. Maybe God was making a point as to why I need to follow promptings because I wanted to say one before the 1st time but didn't so maybe the prayer after was for the 2nd time we got it started haha. Either way it's a funny story. We then had a good contact with Brittany and then went back to Quincy. We talked with the Schilingars again and they are doing fine and they said we can bring over a couple of church members to introduce. That's a good sign. To end of the night we had a GREAT lesson with Larry and Bill.

Wednesday
We helped Larry and Bill move a refrigerator from one house to another. We then did some contacting and then did an exchange review and drove back up to Greenville to swap companions again. As we driving back to Quincy we realized we didn't give the Susanville elders their SIM card back that Elder Haufe had in his phone. This would leave their companionship with no internet and no way to get in contact with anyone. The second we realized we turned around and tried to catch up to Elder Call and Van Der Watt. Our plans got crashed because of this haha. We were originally going to drive all they way to Susanvillle but thankfully Elder Call called us at a grocery store in Chester that had free wifi and told us to meet them there. All in all this ordeal took about 2 and a half hours when it should've only been 1 haha. One we made it back to Quincy we walked to the library and met with Ray. We had an Elders Quorum meeting that evening as well.

Thursday
We had a guy come fix our heater because it stopped working the night before. Thankfully it's back to working again. We were originally going to walk around East Quincy but we got a call from Larry and he said he need help moving some stuff in his house so we went over and did that. We started weekly planning and then at 2pm we went to the church and did family history with Larry. After that we completed our weekly planning and then had dinner. We had Thursday night basketball and holy moly it was a great turnout. We had 19 PEOPLE show up!!!! Only 4 of us there were members. We started with a spiritual thought and prayer.. We had to make a list of who had next because it was too hard to keep track. Another plus is that everyone had a great time and were saying that they are so glad they have somewhere to play and they will come back!! I was able to talk to a couple of people on the sidelines about mission life and why I'm out here and things like that so that's another plus. Everyone has kept there behavior in check and also their language mostly clean. Whenever someone slips up they either apologize immediately or someone else tells them to not cuss. All in all we had a very successful basketball night. Like how else do you get 15 PEOPLE to even be inside the church who aren't members. Even if none of them get baptized just the thought of us planting a good seed and they have a good image of the church and missionaries is good for me. A baptism is just extra that I definitely wouldn't complain about haha

Friday
In the morning we went and walked around an apartment complex and contacted people there. One lady come up to us and warned us to not knock #23 because they use electricity and are evil. Whatever that means I have no idea haha. We were supposed to help Ray move some stuff from his camp trailer to his camping spot but we couldn't find him. We spent nearly an hour checking all the places we know he might be and we finally found him at the library and he said he wasn't doing it today anymore 🤦‍♂️ We walked around and contacted some more people and then had a Bible Study with Sidney. We had our first dinner in a week which was nice. In the middle of dinner I received a messenger call from my mom which doesn't happen so I was pretty confused on why she was calling because it wasn't P day. I answered and that's when I found out that my papa was close to passing away and it was time for goodbyes. I went outside and was able to say goodbye to papa and talk to him for a couple of minutes. I'm so grateful that I was able to say goodbye. Grateful for technology that missionaries now have that enabled me to talk to my papa one last time before he passed the next day. After I got off the phone I went back inside and carried on with the dinner and evening. We were able to catch the last couple of minutes of the high school basketball game which was really good. It was PACKED with people and we were able to say hi to a good few of the people that come to basketball on Thursdays.

Saturday
I woke up to the message that my papa had died in the night. It's a weird sensation that I haven't experienced before with a loved one passing away especially with how my papa's health was. We were all hoping that he would be freed from his current state of living but it still hurts when it actually happens. I had that on the back of my mind a lot of the day. We went to Bills house and helped him with repairs on his heating vents. We planned to go to lunch with him and Larry at 2pm which I was really excited for. We had a good contact with a less active member and then we were going up to Greenhorn (up the mountain). Google Maps told us to go up this one road that we didn't know but we went up there to go contact one of our investigators. Well as we were going up it was pretty snowy on the ground because it's an unpaved road and right when we were going to turn around we got STUCK. We couldn't move at all. The right two tires were moving but the left two weren't moving at all. We had high centered the truck on a foot of snow. It took us 2 HOURS to dig ourselves out of there. Because we got stuck, we missed our lunch appointment with Bill and Larry and we had no service to call them. It hurt my heart to know that they were at the restaurant waiting for us and we never showed. They told us afterwards that they were there for an hour and a half waiting and eventually gave up. After the whole fiasco with that we changed from our cold wet clothes to new ones and went out to contact some people. Saturday was not a very good day because of all things that happened agaianst me but I managed it.

Sunday
Elder Haufe and I spoke during sacrament meeting. My companion gave a solid 5 minutes talk and left with me 25 minutes to spare haha. I filled the whole time though and I personally believe that I gave a good talk. After church we met with Bill and Larry to explain what had happened the day before. We contacted more people during the afternoon and even crashed a Super Bowl party on accident haha. We gave them a game night flyer, took a taco, watched 5 mins of the game, then dipped haha. I wish I could've watched the Super Bowl but it's only 2 years and I'm doing much better stuff than football haha. We met with Vicki and Terry Schilingar again and introduced our Elders quorum president. We ended the day by going to the Grandalls house and eating apple crisp.

Lesson Reviews

Kristina
She asked for a Bible while we were out walking and we gave her one. We ended up helping her start her generator and we said a prayer to help it kick on and testified the importance of prayer. We are going to go back and read The Bible with her next Friday.

Brittany
We shared Alma 37: 36-37 and testified on the importance of prayer. We taught that we need to pray not just when we need something but everyday. They said that they say their prayers and we invited then to keep doing that.

Larry
We started off by reading 1 Nephi 18 and got through half of the chapter. We read up to verse 16 and then Larry had some questions that lead us to a deep discussion on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He had questions on if God forgives serial killers and more questions like that. We explained the Atonement and God's love. We read Alma 42: 25-29 and explained justice and mercy and how they go hand in hand because of Christ. We made sure to make a point on focusing on your own sins and relationship with God and Jesus Christ and to forgive others. The Spirit definitely lead the discussion they way it needed to go.

Sidney
Had an awesome lesson with Sidney! Read John 18-21, and talked about the atonement, the crucifixion, and the resurrection of Christ.

Well that's it for this week. Please wish me luck on this upcoming transfer and that my new companion and I will get into the groove of things quickly! Also thank you for all the prayers for my family as we mourn the loss of our grandpa. I love y'all so much!!!

Have a great week!

Quincy Week 5 (Mission Week 44)

Quincy - Week 44

Hey guys!

This week was awesome! I'm loving it here in Quincy. The transfer is nearing its end and we receive transfer news on Sunday. Next week I'll be able to report on what will happen this upcoming transfer! Anyways here's how my week went.

Monday
We went up to Susanville for p day which was fun. The zone leaders were there also. We had a district lunch and played basketball. In the evening we were supposed to have a lesson but it got canceled.

Tuesday
We went up to Susanville again for district council. It was pretty fun because the Zone leaders were still in town so we had 3 extra people there (they are in a trio). We all had lunch there and hung out until it was time to get back to work. We drove back to Quincy and pretty much the only other thing we did was have a long lesson with Ray.

Wednesday
We did a lot of walking and contacting this day. In the morning we walked the neighborhood by the church and talked to some people. We had some impromptu service for someone we had done service for before and helped her scrape ice off her driveway. After lunch we headed to the farthest point of our area called Cromberg and contacted people there. We met a guy named Don who we had a good talk with. We had an Elders Quorum meeting discussing the ministering list and we are actually a very big help because we tend to know what people have moved because on occasion we knock a non active person's door and the new homeowner answers and says they don't live there anymore. After the meeting we had a lesson with Larry and Bill with our ward mission leader attending.

Thursday
In the morning we went to another farther out place called Greenhorn and contacted people there. We had some success because a couple of the people we knocked said that they would take a minister so that made us happy! After lunch we started our weekly planning. We did some more family history with Larry during the afternoon then finished our weekly planning after. Elder Haufe and I went out to eat for dinner at the Paradise Grill because a member gave us a gift certificate for it! We then had basketball. Not as many people showed up this week because of the high school had a basketball game going on but some people still showed! The great thing is that of one the people who come brings their 4th grader son and he was doing homework on the side. Elder Haufe was able to help him with his homework the whole time we were playing ball! He said that Elder Haufe was a better teacher than his real one haha. What a great impression Elder Haufe left on that kid.

Friday
We helped out at the food pantry in the morning but couldn't stay for as long as we usually do because we had to get home to watch a meeting. We had an over the phone lesson with Sydney that went well. We talked with Larry for a bit and then contacted some people around Downtown Quincy. We spent the rest of the day walking and contacting people. We helped clean the church in preparation for stake conference that evening.

Saturday
It was a great day!! We were busy all day. We had an incredible contact with a new couple we met who have an very interesting backstory. Their names are Vicki and Terry. After that we went to the festival that was going on downtown and talked to some people there and got some free chili!! After that we had a good lesson with Larry and Bill. The evening was spent at stake conference!!! It was so fun an Elder McCombs (Mission president counselor) was there!! We had a potluck dinner and then attended the adult session. We then went to one of our ward members house, the Stokes, and had hot chocolate and muffins. All 8 elders and Elder McCombs and his wife came. It's funny because technically we should have been home by 9 but Elder McCombs was wanting to do it so he said as long as we leave by 9:30 then we are fine!! I mean if the man just below the mission president tells us to stay out longer and he is literally with us I guess we cant argue with that haha.

Sunday
The Elders from Susanville stayed the night at our place because of stake conference so that was fun. We attended the morning session and that was really good. Elder and Sister McCombs spoke and they shouted us out!! The whole session was great and then we had another potluck meal afterwards with the stake. We spent the afternoon finding and contacting some people and then we had a correlation meeting with Carlos. We had dinner and then met with our Elders quorum president.

Lesson Reviews

Ray
We talked about where he's at in life and he's in a tough spot now. We emphasized how keeping the Word of Wisdom will bless his life. We asked how we can help him with his goals and he told us to help keep him accountable with smoking. We told him we would but literally 5 minutes after the lesson we spotted him smoking outside talking to a friend 🤦‍♂️ I yelled "RAY WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" He then said "Sorry it's my last one" 😑

Don
Very nice guy. Cordial with the Church and says he respects what we do as missionaries but he doesn't go to our church and attends another church. He likes us stopping by and always invites "the Mormon boys" in. We shared James 1:5 and talked about faith and prayer.

Bill and Larry (Lesson #1 of the week)
We chatted for a little while and then we read from 1 Nephi Chapter 17 and talked about faith and obedience. We only read a few verses so we invited them to read the whole chapter and we will talk about it on Saturday!

Sydney
We had a good Bible study. We went over Matthew 26, 27, 28. We talked the Crucifixion of Jesus and the Resurrection.

Vicki and Terry
They used to be members but due to some less than fortunate things that happened and the lack of love they felt in a ward they were in they had their records removed. We talked about the whole story and I was completely heartbroken and the love I felt for them was so much. They were really wronged but they still have their testimonies and it was so weird hearing them testify of things like Patriarchal blessings, tithing, fasting, etc. They seem to be completely active members of the church but aren't even members anymore. I came out of there feeling like this is why I'm in Quincy because they said that they just need to feel loved and I feel like I can help with that. They have definitely been on my mind a lot lately so please pray for me as we try to fellowship them and get them the love they deserve.

Bill and Larry (Lesson #2 of the week)
We read 1 Nephi 17 and discussed what we learned from what we read. We testified on how faith leads to obedience and when we are obedient our faith will increase. We also showed them the Book of Mormon video of Nephi building the boat. We invited them to read 1 Nephi 18 and we will discuss that chapter next week.

Well that's it from this week. I'm having a lot of fun here in Quincy. It's the last week of the transfer and I'm looking forward to what it brings!! I love yall!!

Have a great week

Quincy Week 4 (Mission Week 43)

 Hey yall!!!

Here I am again with another week gone by. Time is flying. This week was pretty fun. Not alot of lessons or work done in Quincy because of how much we were gone but it was fun nonetheless. One thing to be said is that it is COLDDDD. I'm wearing 6 layers and I'm still cold. I've got undergarments, white shirt, sweater, jacket, and then a 2in1 bigger jacket on top! Don't worry though I'm getting a couple of things to keep my head warm because that's the reason I'm cold. On Friday I was in Chester, CA and there was the most amount of snow I had ever seen in my life there. I'm talking about 10+ feet. It was crazy. I'll send some pics. Anyways here's how my week went.

Monday
I have finally found a disc golf course that I like to play!!! Brother Dolezal is actually the one who designed the course here and we played it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself haha I'm definitely looking forward to being here when it warms up a little bit and we can go each week. It's still a bit cold and snow on the ground but it was still very fun. We also had a lesson with Maddy in the evening that went well!

Tuesday
We started the day with walking and street contacting. We stopped by a couple of people that lived on the street we walked down. We said hi to Larry and talked with him for a few minutes. We took some time to clean out the fridge and it looks soooo much better now. I'm very happy that it is organized now. I have been wanting to do it but we have been busy. In the afternoon we went and walked East Quincy and tried to contact some people for our Elders quorum president. We are helping him and the elders quorum presidency with the ministering lists and finding out what people have moved and whatnot. We had dinner with the Dolezals and then took out the trash for one of our members who couldn't lift the bags. We went over to Brother Smailes house (Elders quorum president) and chatted with him and his wife and gave a report on the people we tried to contact. They gave us a lot of leftover turkey dinner as well!! We don't get fed as much here as I have in my other areas so I'm happy to have that haha.

Wednesday
We had Zone Conference in Reno which was fun. We did a big Kahoot game (online trivia game that you can created and have people join off their phones) and I won the game!! I got 1st out of 45 missionaries haha. What's funny is that the question that put me on top was "Who is serving in Lund, Nevada" which is the most remote part of the mission. One of my trainees is in Lund right now so I knew automatically and was shouting "THATS MY STEPSON LETS GOO!!" (Mission terminology haha). I received no prize but it satisfied my competition nature at least haha. I had an interview with President Dunn and the we started exchanges with the Zone leaders. I was with Elder Halliday and we did some work in their area. We had a lesson and found 2 people!

Thursday
We were still on exchanges until Thursday afternoon. We spent the day contacting a bunch of people and finding. We saw a door that had a sign that said "Please ring doorbell", so we did haha. Now the point of that being there is to get us to not knock the door but when the lady answered the door we said "You had a sign that said please ring your doorbell so we did!! We figured you would be interested in a message about Jesus Christ!" She did not appreciate our humor and told us to go away. I loved the exchange. We ended exchanges and then headed back to Quincy just in time for basketball. We had 14 people there!!! Almost all of them were from Facebook too. We started with a prayer and a spiritual message too. I'm so glad that I was able to get a basketball night started here. Everyone is keeping their behavior in check and we haven't ran into any problems and hope to not have any at all.

Friday
We helped Brother Dolezal clean and organize his discs for dic golf which I absolutely loved. We then started exchanges with our district leader. I went with DL Elder Call in Susanville while Elder Haufe stayed here. We spent the day contacting people and we had a lesson with a guy named Michael. He was a cool dude but he pretty much said that God takes away our agency at times when we don't know why we did something. For example if you walk into a room and forgot why you went in there boom agency revoked. Also he was caught on the idea that Judas Iscariot shouldn't go to hell because someone HAD to betray Jesus so he really did a good thing and had his agency taken away. It wasn't in a bashful way though so hopefully we can get him to realize that God uses bad choices sometimes to further His work.

Saturday
Still on exchanges with Elder Call. We did some contacting and I had a highlight of my mission. We walked up to this door and were looking for a girl but a guy met us at the door saying that he is her husband now and they are Christian and she isn't interested anymore. The contact was left on a semi bad note and he did not want us there so we turn around to leave and right to the side of me is a DEER. I was so confused and startled and I just went WHAT THE HECK!! I turned around and asked the dude " Is that your pet deer??" He simply said no and that it is a friendly neighborhood deer. The bad mood was completely killed because I was so ecstatic about a deer being so close to me haha. The deer even tried to go inside the guys house. I whipped out my phone and started taking pictures. It's funny how the guy wanted us to go away and we ended up staying on his front lawn while he was inside taking pictures with a deer haha. We ended exchanges and then headed back to Quincy. We did a lot more contacting a d then had dinner and a correlation meeting with out ward mission leader.

Sunday
We were originally going to go to Greenville to speak but President Thrall called us about 2 hours before and told us that it had snowed A TON and he was going to cancel church so we were free to not speak and attend Quincy ward.  After church we just walked ALOT and contacted a bunch of inactive members/people who have had contact with missionaries before. It was VERY cold. We even had to stop by a members house and ask to warm up inside because we were freezing.

Lesson Reviews

Maddy
We taught Maddy about the rest of the ten commandments: don't lie, don't covet, and commit adultery. We also talked about family and temples and the importance of talking to God through prayer and fasting. She is progressing well and gets her grandma to take her to church when her mom doesn't want to. Hopefully we will have a baptismal date set for her soon!

That's all the lessons for this week. Like I said we barely were in Quincy this week.

Well that's about it for this week. I love you all so much and thanks for the prayers!! Feel free to send me any questions you have or even just a simple email saying hi!

Have a great week
Elder Proctor

PS I have a bunch of pictures this week

Nacogdoches Weeks 19-20 (Mission Weeks 102-103) Part of the Journey is the End

For the last time, Hey everyone! My last 2 weeks as a missionary were awesome. I was very busy and I had a great time doing all my missionar...
